Kiss My American Azz
SOUTH TOLEDO -- A south Toledo man is using a replica of the Statue of Liberty to let the world know his thoughts on illegal immigration. Art Bollinger says he got this idea from an e-mail he received, and decided to duplicate the picture.
From the front, you can see the Statue of Liberty. From behind, it shows Lady Liberty's behind, in a thong bikini. The nearby sign says "Kiss my American Ass."
US Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., said the Senate took a comprehensive approach to dealing with illegal immigration and he took issue with Sensenbrenner's characterization of the Senate's approach. "Amnesty. That's nonsense,'' Hagel said
BULLSHIT Mr. Hagel!
Below is an email I received from my Senator in PA, Rick Santorum.
Dear Cynthia,
Yesterday, Rick Santorum e-mailed you about the incredibly important issue of immigration reform, and explained why he would be taking a tough stand against the Senate immigration 'compromise.'
Like his colleagues, Sen. Santorum came to the immigration reform debate honestly seeking a legitimate solution to this divisive issue. However, he was clear that he would only support an immigration reform bill that doesn't provide amnesty for those who are here illegally.
Unfortunately, the bill the Senate passed is a broad amnesty program that provides incentives for illegal immigrants to raid the Social Security system and lie about their work history. It's a bill that lets illegal immigrants remain in this country, and in the immigration line, while pushing others outside of the country further back in line.
The overwhelming majority of you have spoken out against this bill that rewards illegal behavior, and please be assured that Sen. Santorum will fight for a more reasonable solution
Here is an earlier email, from Sen. Santorum
Dear Cynthia,
Thousands of Pennsylvanians have written my U.S. Senate and campaign offices expressing their great concern over our nation's immigration policies. With thousands of illegal immigrants rushing across our borders every day, straining every sector of our society, congressional attention to this issue is appropriate and overdue.
All Pennsylvanians should know that I've heard your concerns, and they have influenced my work on this issue, particularly the votes I've cast these past two weeks. I came to the immigration reform debate honestly seeking a legitimate solution to this divisive issue; however, if one were to imagine the worst possible way to reform our immigration system, it would probably look a lot like the immigration bill the U.S. Senate is currently considering.
I've said from the beginning I support immigration reform that better secures our borders WITHOUT providing amnesty for those who are here illegally, regardless of how long they've been here. Unfortunately, the bill we will vote on today in the Senate is not that kind of solution.
It's a broad amnesty program for most illegal immigrants that will increase financial burdens on honest tax-paying American citizens and provide incentives for illegal immigrants to raid the Social Security system and lie about their work history.
As the son of an Italian immigrant, I understand the important and valuable contributions immigrants make to our country. I greatly respect those who have legally come to our nation seeking a better life for their families, just as my grandfather and father did.
However, when considering policy that will determine the future of immigrants who come to our country illegally, I've been firm in my belief that we must maintain the rule of law.
Today, when the Senate votes on a final immigration reform bill, I cannot support it because it rewards illegal behavior, threatens our social-welfare system, devalues the legal-immigration process, turns illegal immigrants into permanent residents, and fails the test of history.
**While some may have members in Senate who are not listening. I know I can count on the Good Senator Santorum from Pennsylvania. Rick is one of those conserative Republicans we hear very little from today. He listens and pays attention to his constituents. I know he listens based on his votes and my contact with his office. HEH, we may be on a first name basis in a short time. After all, I am a registered voter with a name one won't soon forget!
LATER............
I am afraid many of you won't take the time to call your Senator. Figuring someone else will get the job done. That is not the case. Many of these guys are up for election soon. Let them know you are paying attention.
If you don't know who your Senator is, call your local government voters registration office or your party headquarters, they can direct you.
SIDE NOTE; I am fanatical on illegals, that's a given based on my blog burst. What I am not is anti immigration or anti-Mexican. I am simply anti-illegals. There is something seriously wrong when our own government is willing to give these illegals what takes Americans years to be entitled too. iT'S WRONG!
