Where is the respect?

I am a people watcher. You could find me sitting in the middle of a mall, train station, airport or on the boardwalk. I love people. I will always give those I am watching a nod, smile or a simple hello. Well, some of them.

A few weeks ago I started a new job. On most mornings I find myself pulling into the local WaWa for coffee, Newport's, the occasional donut. They have the best Kenya AA coffee!

Three times in the last week or so I have run into some rather rude language. The other day it was a couple of young children in the store with their grandmother. The guy making the donut delivery approached the grandmother and said to her "this young man is very polite and respectful, then he points to the older boy maybe about 7 or 8 and says, this one is rude, he told me to get the fuck out of his way so he could pick out which donut he wanted. The grandmother turns and says to the child "I'll kick your fucking ass, what have you been told about respect. Duh......lady..........you just explained it all.

This morning it was a "construction worker" on his Nextel. Conversation went something like this......What the fuck do you mean don't call you. You fucking told me to call you Thursday mother fucker. You fucking owe me 375.00 I want my fucking money. Now mind you this is over Nextel, not a private connection. On the other end you could hear whoever it was he was talking to, cursing just as bad and just as loud as this guy. AT first I said nothing. To be honest my husband works construction, I have heard some of his conversations with contractors or workers. But never in public like this. About two seconds into the conversation, me who can curse with the best of them, had to say something. In my best Philly brogue, I chimed in.........yohhhhhhh your mouth. He gave me a look but toned it down........well some.

Do people not have any respect for others anymore? What gives someone the opinion they can talk anyway they like in public. Do they realize not everyone accepts this behavior? Better yet, where is their self respect. If I had only had a stun gun, or the nerve enough, I would have bitch slapped them.

Bail money anyone? I just may slap the next ignorant azz I run into.
