Crime scene investigations

"You are not to expect visible proofs in a work of darkness. You are to collect the truth from circumstances, and little collateral facts, which taken singly afford no proof, yet put together, so tally with, and confirm each other, that they are as strong and convincing evidence, as facts that appear in the broad face of the day."

—Judge Francis Buller, to the jury, Donnellan case, March 1781

A number of popular shows follow forensics experts as they solve crimes.

I think forensics is fascinating.

You can learn more about true forensics at the National Library of Medicine's Visible Proofs site. The site is pretty interesting. You can look at case studies, history and some pretty neat info on famous crime investigations.

Some of the pictures are graphic, use caution when showing to children.

Click the pictures on the site for more reading. I did notice information teachers can use in the class room.
